Nabina Sharma is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Interdisciplinary Rural and Northern Health Program at Laurentian University, Sudbury. She is a CCNA Team-18 trainees working under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Walker (Team 18 Lead). She is an executive member of the CCNA Trainee Society and a trainee representative on the CCNA Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) working committee. She was on the CCNA Conference Planning Committee for 2021 and 2022 and CCNA Public Event Planning Committee. Besides, she was in a panel discussion on “EDI of lived experiences in dementia research” at CCNA 2021 Partners Forum and Science Day (PFSD). Her Ph.D. research involves developing a functional assessment tool to diagnose dementia in collaboration with First Nations communities in northern Ontario. Her research interest includes community-engaged research, decolonizing methodologies, Indigenous health and aging, Indigenous research synthesis, cultural safety, cognition, and dementia.
